Hello! My name is Alisha Wallace. 2018-2019 will be my sixth year to teach at Wellston High School, and my eleventh year of teaching overall. Time flies when you’re having fun! I previously taught Art at Kingfisher and Springer schools and am happy "back home" in Lincoln County. I was raised on a farm East of Sparks and attended Davenport and Prague schools before graduating from Strother High School in 2004. Since that time, I have furthered my education by obtaining a bachelor's degree in Art Education from Oklahoma Baptist University and a master's degree in Education, with an emphasis in Administration, from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
I come from a line of educators, but their only hesitation in me pursuing a similar career was to make sure of a personal calling and to not just follow in the family footsteps. There have been long moments, but as each year swiftly passes, I am more and more sure of this calling and am reminded more and more of the privilege I have been granted to work with students. This year I will be teaching American Literature, High School Art, and Yearbook. (I also have the opportunity to further my own learning through an administrative internship.) My hope is for my students to not only be challenged to think and learn regarding a certain subject matter, but most importantly to develop a positive work ethic, sense of responsibility, commitment to cooperation, and a love for effort and creativity that will prove beneficial throughout their lives.
I am so thankful to have the opportunity to teach your children this year. Please feel free to contact me as I work with your child. I have provided contact information on my home page, but note the best times for me to visit with you are before school, during lunch or my planning period, or after school,
