Picture day is Tuesday, September 15th. We will be taking fall portraits and Fall sports pictures. Students will be coming home with portrait order forms soon. If your student is virtual please make arrangements for them to be here on the 15th. HS virtual students will need to be here at 12:30 and MS virtual students will need to be here at 10:30 to take pictures.
Update on social media threat concerns: Quick action by parents , staff, and administration has resulted in the identification of individuals responsible for the posts about Wellston Public Schools and specific students as well as disciplinary action. All threats have been taken seriously and quick action by Officer Chapa and our local police department have resulted in the reduction of any current threats and continued safety of students and staff.
Update: Due to the attention of the recent social media and the willingness of the public to report it, we have identified the author. A person has come forward to apologize. Until further investigation and identification of others' involvement, we will continue with extra security. As promised, you will be kept informed.
Wellston Public School administrators are aware of the social media posts circulating and referencing Wellston Schools, students, and surrounding schools. So, to take necessary precautions, we have spoken with Officer Chapa, who is in contact with the Wellston Police Department. We will have extra security on campus at the MS/HS tomorrow and possibly throughout this week.

If you have a Middle or High School student, don't forget about our laptop insurance option! For $55 your student's laptop is covered for accidental damage such as cracked screens or liquid damage. Forms are available in the MS/HS office.
The 2025-2026 yearbooks have been delivered! Ms. Anderson has a limited number of extras for sale for $40 each. If you would like to purchase one or a yearbook from previous years, please contact Ms. Anderson at aanderson@wellstonschools.org.
Thank you for your patience as we work out bus changes. Our enrollment is up, creating much excitement and adjustment. Please see the following bus changes beginning Monday morning, August 24th.:
BUS 3: Students on 3330 Rd. south of 66 highway, Pecan Meadows , Shady Meadows, and, stops on 960 Rd just east of 3330 Rd.
BUS 2: Students on 890 Rd just west of 3330 Rd that are currently on Bus 1 will now be on Bus 2.
BUS 4: will now only service Cap Rock and 102 Highway corridor.
Pick up and drop off times should be fairly close to the same times

Please join us the Citizen Potawatomi Nation Department of Education on September 2nd, 2026 at the Firelake Arena (18145 Old Rangeline Rd, Shawnee, OK 74801) for our annual College and Career Fair. The event will be from 9:30-12 PM. We will have over 50 institutions including universities, technology centers, businesses, and tribal education departments. There is sure to be something for all students. This event is open to any and all students, so please feel free to bring as many as you like.
All buses will run at normal times in the morning.
Bus 3 will be running about 45 min. to 1 hour late this morning, August 18th. We apologize and hope to be back running on time as soon as possible. We will keep you informed.
The nurse practitioner will be here Wednesday, August 19 from 9:00 am -2:00 pm with the health department's mobile unit. She can see anyone with acute illness, rashes, etc. and this month she is willing to complete sports physicals. Please notify the office if your student needs to be seen.
Heat warning for next week. Please bring a water bottle, drink plenty of water, and ride a car if possible.
The first day of school was a success! Remember that tomorrow, August 14th, 5th grade basketball players will begin their day at the MS/HS. Also, if you have students at both buildings, please pick up at the MS/HS first. Thank you for your support.
We are excited to see our students tomorrow morning. Remember MS/HS schedule is 8:00 am -3:10 pm and elementary is 8:00 am- 3:15 pm. Breakfast is served at 7:30 am.
Fifth-grade basketball players will go to the elementary school on the first day of school. They will begin going to the MS/HS on Friday, August 14th, for breakfast/first hour.
A town bus will be available for students who live within walking distance of the MS/HS. All other students must be picked up at the elementary.
